Initial Chiropractic Examination
For our new patients, Dr. Erin will carefully listen to your history, your goals and answer any questions or concerns you might have. She will then perform a very thorough exam to make sure we know exactly how your body is moving and responding. Each exam is uniquely tailored to your body’s needs and will reveal the true cause as to what may be causing pain, discomfort, dysfunction or dis-ease. When called for, Dr. Erin may refer you to get X-rays, but only when your exam reveals the need to do so. If you have any previous paperwork, x-rays, MRI scans, or exams, please bring them to your first appointment because the more information we have the better. If Dr. Erin’s exam shows it is safe to get you adjusted and you are a candidate for chiropractic care, she will adjust you. Expect this process to take around an hour.

Chiropractic Adjustments
Every visit after your initial exam will take around 25-30 minutes. During these visits Dr. Erin will individualize therapeutic soft tissue work, such as stretching, scraping, traction or mobilization to help your body prepare to receive the adjustment. She has found that soft tissue work and chiropractic care go hand in hand and when both are addressed your body receives the adjustment well, your body holds the adjustment longer and helps you heal towards optimal functioning faster. Dr. Erin uses different adjusting techniques based on what your body needs which can include adjusting with her hands, using a drop adjustment table, and/or using instruments.

Pediatric Adjustments
Our pediatric practice members start from birth to 12 years old. Chiropractic care is vital for growing bodies to aid in healing for a baby presenting with colic, constipation, feeding and sleeping difficulties or ear infections to name a few. Toddlers and kids are hitting important developmental milestones, take hard falls, participate in sports, are building an immune system and need overall wellness to grow into healthy adults. The key to pediatric chiropractic visits are to analyze and adjust quickly making your kiddo as comfortable as possible. These visits are shorter than our regular visits, typically around 5-10 minutes.

Wellness Adjustments
We now offer appointments with a shorter appointment time of 10-15 minutes. You are always guaranteed the highest level of care with any time slot, this one being focused solely on the Chiropractic adjustment and nervous system alignment. This allows us to likely get you on Dr Erin’s schedule sooner and with more flexibility. We recommend this for our busy Moms and professionals as well as our wellness care patients.

Therapeutic Massage
Awaken chiropractic hosts a licensed massage therapist, Sonya, for 60 minute sessions to help you achieve your health goals. Whether that to be breaking down years of chronic pain, flushing out an acute injury, or just to relax. Sonya is very knowledgeable about the human body and holds herself to a high standard to meet your individual needs.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a non-invasive, holistic therapeutic treatment involving the manipulation of reflex points on the feet which correspond to specific organ systems, glands and other parts of the body. Pressure is applied to these reflex areas in order to promote health and homeostasis throughout the body's energetic pathways. Reflexology sessions last one hour with 45 minutes of active treatment time as well as a preliminary consultation to review current health and lifestyle concerns and treatment goals.

Reiki
Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation by reducing stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki differs from other touch therapies in that there is no pressure, massage or manipulation involved. As stress and tension is released, the body begins to heal from trauma, illness, or imbalances thus returning to harmony. Reiki sessions will be 60 minutes as the practitioner gently places their hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations.

After your phone consultation with Jordan, the next step is a 75 minute initial consultation where we’ll do an in-depth analysis of your bloodwork. With the data gathered, you will receive a personalized health protocol with supplement regimen, dietary recommendations, and behavioral/lifestyle suggestions specific to your health needs and goals.

What to expect during a Chiropractic visit?
Several areas can be adjusted or just one. You may hear a sound or feel movement in the area adjusted. Most practice members report a sense of ease, well-being or awakening afterwards. It is common to feel a little sore or generally tired afterwards because your body is being pushed into a healing state, the first phase being an acute inflammatory response, allowing needed nutrients in and start your body’s healing towards its optimal state.
